Vivian Solomon Club Spirit Award

The Vivian Solomon Club Spirit Award is named after one of RMMC's greatest benefactors and supporters - Ms. Vivian Solomon.  Vivian inherited a couple of bars in the 1960's when her husband passed away - OH, by the way, they're gay bars!  Well, Vivian didn't know anything about running a bar, but with the help of her employees and some of the Rocky Mountaineers, the bars were successful under her management, and one of her bars became the "Home Bar" of the RMMC.  Over the years, Vivian was a huge supporter of RMMC and was made an Honorary Member (reserved for a select few outstanding community supporters).

Each year, the members of the RMMC cast secret ballots to vote on who has most demonstrated the spirit of the Rocky Mountaineers MC.  The rules are very specific - one member must recieve over 50% + 1 votes to be named the recipient of the Vivian Solomon Award.   The ballots are NOT counted by active RMMC members, but for years by Vivian herself.  After her eyesight failed, we have had another Honorary Member count the votes and make the arrangements for the engraving etc, so it's a complete surprise at the Top Hand's Cocktail Party when the winner is announced.

Under the rules, if one person does NOT get 50% + 1 of the votes, the award is NOT ISSUED.
