ROVING Reporter

Our very own Dispatcher, Scott, has been doing some fraternizing with our cohorts in crime in Texas!  Here's what he had to report!

Friends -

I have been doing some traveling here in Texas and have been to a couple of runs already this year!  First was the Chain of Command run in San Antonio, TX.  For those who don't know, Chain of Command is a Leather social club based in San Antonio.  They had a wonderful weekend hotel run, which was very informative and quite fun!  Every member of the Chain of Command was hospitable and put forth every effort to make a great run for their guests!  Thanks to Master Lee and slave lobo for opening their home to me for the weekend!

Also, I went on the Battalion Motorcycle Corp's Shakedown Run to the Circle J Ranch in Eustace, TX.  The Circle J is a working cattle ranch owned by members of the Battalion MC, but it is also a wonderful campground!  The Battalion men sure know how to host a run!  Even in those little times of crisis (lost keys to the car which held our food!) the food was fantastic!  They did a 4 course Cajun meal one night which included a wonderful Etoufee!  And if you've never seen Bananas Foster made for a 25+ guys in the dark by the fire - it's quite the experience and were they ever wonderful!!!  Near Eustace is a flea-market mecca called Canton, TX - Canton is FAMOUS for their HUNDREDS of acres of flea-market!  A bunch of the guys and I went to Canton shopping - it was a lot of fun!! (You can be too butch the entire time!)

Carey H., from the Satyrs MC (Los Angeles, CA) came and stayed with me in San Angelo, TX one weekend this May!  It was great to see Carey again, and look forward to seeing him at GFR this year!

Memorial Day weekend I attended Lonestar 20!!  Lonestar has been around for MANY years, and is one of my favorites to attend.  It's held at the Texas Conference of Club's landsite (they own 33 acres) which they have turned into a wonderful group campsite which includes a pole barn, full kitchen, walk in cooler, on-tap beer, a real shower house, bunkhouse, real toilets and "The Compound"!  I've been to the run a number of times and always have a wonderful time!  I encourage everyone who can to attend a run at the TCC Landsite!  It's truly first class camping, with first rate people!!

That's about it for my roaming around Texas - I encourage everyone to go to other clubs' runs to experience the differences!  It's truly wonderful to get to know people around the country, and develop those wonderful friendships!

Keep it safe!

Scott
