The Rocky Mountaineers Motorcycle Club of Colorado was originally founded in 1968 making it the oldest gay organization in the state of Colorado. The club has evolved considerably since its original formation. The club exists to promote and advance the sport of Recreational Motorcycle Riding. We are a GLBT Recreational Motorcycle Riding Club for everyone.
Our reasons for existing are:
- To promote the participation, enjoyment, and safety of members in the sport of motorcycling.
- To foster good relations between all owners and users of motorcycles and scooters.
- To promote a friendly spirit of cooperation between owners and users of all types of motor vehicles.
- To conduct and promote motorcycle events such as: 2 hour rides, half day rides, daylong rides, overnight trips, campouts, tours, dinner meet-ups, safety workshops and meetings.
- To promote the good image of motorcyclists as honorable and law-abiding citizens who are concerned with the welfare and safety of their community.
The Rocky Mountaineers Motorcycle Club of Colorado welcomes active motorcycle riders and motorcycle enthusiasts , young and old, new and experienced. We require members to be at least 21 years old. You do not have to actually own a motorcycle.
If you are interested in becoming a member it's important that we get acquainted with each another first. Check our activities calendar regularly, go on a ride with us and attend one of our meeting, join our Facebook page, and sign-up on our Yahoo mailing list ( RMMC-subscribe AT yahoogroups DOT com ), then decide if you want to become a member of the Rocky Mountaineers Motorcycle Club of Colorado.
An active voting membership is $60/year. Voting members are expected to participate in club activities on a fairly regular basis. A voting member should attend at least one club meeting during the year; they are also eligible to hold Office.
An Associate membership is $12/year. The Associate membership is for those who want to be considered a member of the Mountaineers but who find it difficult to participate in club activities and meeting on a regular basis. Associate members can not vote or hold Office.
